The Knowing Body is a collaboration between 8 writers and 1 photographer. These 8 writers responded to an open call asking for written works under 3000 words, addressing ideas of loss with reflections on personal grief.
The chosen submissions, and the resulting book, present a varied and nuanced picture of the many ways we can feel loss. The work is not simply constrained to human passing and the legacy of life, but encompasses the loss of a place, be that physical or emotional as well as the the loss of a possession or a feeling of absence in relation to memory.
The Knowing Body makes up Vol II of ZONE6 Shorts, a series platforming contemporary writers, often early in their careers, who have meaningful things to say aboutthe world we live in and how we navigate it.
